As per my PhD completion in 2022, my focus is mainly on exchange processes (hence, the connectivity) between the open deep ocean and coastal waters, causing flushing processes in the coastal waters (bays and tropical fjords). Some important exchange processes would be density circulation and internal tidal upwelling, allowing salt-water intrusion into the coastal waters (Marine Hydrography). Applied methods in the research themes can be the combinations of oceanographic observations, analytical and 3D baroclinic models (preferable: MOHID model).
